Tara Squibb has lived on the Powis Castle estate for over 25 years, an idyllic location in the heart of Wales. Her work is influenced by natural phenomena and the surrounding landscapes, where she finds inspiration for form, texture and colour. Cynefin, a sense of place is important to Tara, as it's where she both lives and creates. Outstanding rural landscapes and views fuel imagination and provide endless inspiration to create unique contemporary pieces. When relating to Hiraeth, a sense of longing, its the desire to show that Wales has so much to offer, not only with its culture and location but through the eyes and imaginations of the many creatives throughout Wales. Hwyl - The pride and the passion go hand in hand with ceramics.

Tara is passionate about clay and says everything around her seems to stop when she is working with clay allowing her to fully focus on what the clay is doing. A sense of pride is achieved when a piece is complete and onlookers give their perception of what they see in the piece.

Her work featured here is from her Age Old Obvara Collection
